September is a tough month
Hello, Julie and fellow classmates. This time of year always brings me a little down. I was married on September 1, 1990 so today would have been my 20th wedding anniversary. As if remembering that date isn't bad enough, I know that in 3 more months I will be remembering my husband's birthday, December 1st and the date of his death, December 8th. On a much happier note, my son, Kyle will turn 16 on September 22nd, so that is one bright spot in this terrible time of year. Also, football season is about to start and I am a HUGE New York Giants fan and have been since I was a 14 yrs old. I was very apprehensive about writing my paper on suicide because it brings up alot of painful memories but, as someone once told me, you can't go around your grief; you have to go through it. I am really looking forward to doing the research for this paper an I am hoping it will give me advice on how to deal with my children and let them know that I will always be here for them no matter what they are going through. Hope everyone has a Great Labor Day Weekend! Stay Safe!

Lisa,
ReplyDeleteHello! I am so sorry for your loss. It's been 10 years since my father commited suicide and it is very painful for anyone to deal with there is so much emotion linked to death and you just don't understand. I love your saying that you can't go around your own greif that you have to go through it. this is so true and you deal with grief everyday. This time of year is very difficult for my as well because this is when my family started to fall apart and the holidays knowing that its another year without my father in my life. Have a good weekend Lisa!!

Lisa,
ReplyDeleteI can understand your apprehension when you decided to write your paper on sucide. I think it could be a good thing though like you mentioned you can't go around your grief. I think you are a very stong person and things happen that are out of our control. I feel like writing this paper is important to you to know the dangers and the possibility of stopping suicide. It seems like a rough time of the year for you but just try to stay positive ok! I sorry for your loss and I look forward to reading your paper and you are very strong for even attempting to write this paper. Many people couldn't do due the the situation and I think a lot of classmates commend you for that.
Have a great week,
Honey
